Hi, I’m the parent behind toknow.blog — welcome.
This site started the way a lot of things do at 3 a.m.: sitting on the edge of a bed with a crying newborn, phone light too bright, scrolling through forum posts that all seemed to disagree with each other. Somewhere between the tenth conflicting article on sleep schedules and the fifth well-meaning but confusing comment thread, I remember thinking — someone should just write this down clearly, in one place.
Nobody warns you how much of the first year is spent Googling. Is this normal? Should they be doing this by now? Is this feed enough, this nap too short, this cry different from yesterday’s? Most of the time the honest answer turned out to be “yes, and it passes” — but finding that answer often took longer than it should have, buried in ads, outdated advice, or information written for a general audience rather than someone standing in a dark nursery at 3 a.m.
toknow.blog is what I wished I’d had: straightforward, practical information for parents of babies in that first year — sleep, feeding, development, the gear that actually earns its shelf space, and the everyday realities nobody puts on a registry checklist. I write from experience, I read the research and the guidance from pediatric health organizations before I write anything about health, and I say clearly when something is just “what worked for us” rather than a medical fact.
I’m not a doctor, a nurse, or a lactation consultant, and this blog isn’t a substitute for professional care — it’s one parent trying to make this stretch a little less overwhelming for the next one. When it comes to anything medical, I lean on trusted sources like the American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, the NHS, and the WHO, and I always encourage readers to bring their specific questions to their own pediatrician, who actually knows their baby.
If something here helped you get through a hard night, or if you think I’ve got something wrong, I’d genuinely like to hear about it. You’ll find how to reach me on the Contact page.

Why Toknow?
The internet is full of information.
